‘Kati and Setareh’ to screen in Bangladesh

Iranian sci-fi film ‘Kati and Setareh’ to be screened in Bangladesh film festival.

Reza Majlesi’s sci-fi film ‘Kati and Setareh’ is set to compete at the 17th annual Dhaka International Film Festival (DIFF) in Bangladesh.

A children’s sci-fi film, ‘Kati and Setareh’ is the story of an alien, ‘Kati’, travelling to planet earth to find fellow alien friend ‘Kooty’, who recently traveled to earth in search of the most beautiful thing ever, but has yet to find it.

Landing his spaceship somewhere in Iran’s northern Gilan province, ‘Kati’ meets a local girl by the name of ‘Setareh’, and together they embark on a journey to find ‘Kooty’.

Produced by Bita Mansouri, the bulk of the film was shot in northern Iran, with other parts being filmed in Tehran.

‘Kati and Setareh’ is scheduled to go on screen in the Children’s section of the 17th annual Dhaka International Film Festival (DIFF) on Monday January 14, 2019 at 10:00 AM local time.

The 17th annual Dhaka International Film Festival (DIFF), themed “Better Film, Better Audience, Better Society” according to its website, will feature about 170 films with filmmakers coming from 60 countries around the world.

Various competitions will be held at DIFF highlighting a wide range of interests from Asian to international cinema, children’s films, women filmmakers, short and independent films, and spiritual films.

DIFF’s 17th annual event is currently underway with the festival coming to a close on January 18, 2019.
